Chicken Corner 2.0

​A scenic Jeep trail ending at aptly-named Chicken Corner.  Look at the red arrow in the photo.

​Park at the end of the road, gather your courage, and walk the trail ahead of you around “Chicken Corner”.  The trail is a bit wider than it looks, but most people will not have the courage to walk around the corner.

Chicken Corner is the hook for this trail, but the best part of the run is the ride in from Moab.  You will travel 21 miles on 1A Kane Lockhart Access Road 2.0 before reaching the actual Chicken Corner 2.0 trail.  This description covers the entire trip.

Shortly after leaving pavement there is a trail called Cliffhanger 4.5 on your right.  If you are not into serious Jeeping, but would like to see what some of it looks like, walk a couple hundred feet down this trail.  The trail is even more difficult farther out.

A bit farther along the main road there is a rock below the road on the right called Birthing Rock.  Well worth a short stop.

The first 7 miles after leaving pavement is through Kane Springs Canyon.  Parts of the road are curvy, but wide and well graded, and other parts are relatively straight.  This is a popular area and can be very busy.

Leave Kane Springs Canyon and climb toward Hurrah Pass.  On the way up there is Kane Overlook.  Great views up and down the canyon.  

The road from Kane Springs Canyon to Chicken corner is bumpy and slow going, but very scenic.

Take in the views at Hurrah Pass then continue down the hill and head for Chicken Corner.

There are numerous river overlooks along the way.  This is magnificant country.

The road ends a short distance from Chicken Corner.  Start walking out and you might decide to go all the way.  Of course, you might also decide not to.
