Gemini Bridges 2.0

Gemini Bridges is a unique pair of double arches back to back only a few feet from each other.
Gemini Bridges road not only leads you to the top of the Gemini Bridges but also leads you to a number of other trails in the area. This trail can also be used as an alternate off-highway route to and from Deadhorse State Park and Canyonlands National Park, although it will not save you any time because it is rough.

There is a GPS - gpx track file at the bottom of the page.

This trail can be run in either direction, but is more scenic if traveled from west to east.  The La Sal Mountains are a backdrop almost all the way.  Nice views to the north as well.

The west end of this trail is in the "Big Flat" oil and gas production area of the Paradox Basin oil and gas field.  Pumps, storage tanks and transportation trucks are a common sight.

There is a short hike to Gemini Bridges, the main focus of this trip.  You can walk all over the tops of them, but it is hard to get a good perspective of their size.  The best views are from below as seen from Bull Canyon.

Watch for the Gooney Bird as you go.  You must run over it's toe or you will be afflicted with "The Gooney Bird Curse".
