Gold Bar Rim 4.5

Gold Bar Rim is a difficult Jeep trail at the north end of the "Trifecta".
This trail in the north end of the "Trifecta", a popular combination of 3 trails:  Poison Spider 3.5 on the south, Golden Spike 4.5 in the center and this one  on the north.  It can also be done by itself, or in combination with Rusty Nail 4.5.

You are in for a long but enjoyable day if you do the Trifecta.  Plan on 9 - 10 hours round trip from Moab, depending on the size of your group and the amount of traffic on the trail.  A small group in the off season will be quicker.

There is a GPS - gpx track file at the bottom of the page.

Gold Bar Waterfall
The most difficult obstacle on the trail is the waterfall, which you climb when running the trail from the rim down.  There is a winch point if you cannot drive over it.

There are numerous ledges along the rest of the trail as well.

Side by sides do this trail as well a Jeeps.  This group was taking a break above the Waterfall.

Great view from the rim.  This was the original end of the trail before Golden Spike 4.5 connected it to Poison Spider 3.5.
