Mashed Potatoes 3.5

This is a fun trail through whitish, lumpy rock - hence the name.  Lots of enjoyable obstacles.

There are a number of routes into this trail, but I have attempted to show the most direct one. Part of the trail is shared with 3D PLUS 2.5.

The main trail is rated 3.5, but there are obstacles along the sides to increase the fun.

There is a GPS - gpx track at the bottom of the page.

Crossing a dip
This photo shows the beginning of the difficult part.  A friend of ours called the hump to the right of the Jeep "The Gatekeeper".  He said if you can go over this one, you can go over all the obstacles on the main trail.

There are many climbs along the route.

After Gatekeeper
The Gravy Bowl is an extra credit that usually has water in the bottom, and the exit comes out right on the canyon rim.

This is our same friend coming out of the Gravy Bowl a few years ago.

Exiting the Gravy Bowl
After the Gravy Bowl you will go over a couple ridges that have flatter areas with more "taters" in between.

Join 3d PLUS 2.5 for a short distance then head for Blue HIlls Road to complete the run.
