Thirteen Mile Loop 2.0

Drive an easy, scenic loop through the western part of the Logandale Trails System.  Arches, petroglyphs and an abandoned check dam.
The Logandale Trails System contains over 200 miles of trails, suitable for a variety of OHV types, as well as hiking and horseback riding.

There are trails for regular Jeeps, plus an area of extreme trails close to the entrance staging area.  We watched buggies play around on the obstacles.

This trail is described in a counterclockwise direction, but it can easily be driven in either direction.

There is a GPS - gpx track file at the bottom of the page.

Driving along the western edge of the loop gives nice views of rugged rock formations.

What do you see in this rock formation?  A turtle, a seal or "just another rock"?  Near the southern end of the loop.

The south end of this loop is in Overton Wash, a major drainage for the area.  Climb out of the wash and head north on smoother roads.

The trail drops into the upper part of Weber Wash and turns sharply southwest.  Shortly after this is an option to climb up onto what we are calling Weber Knob (it does not actually have a name).  There is both a normal road and a much steeper road to the top.  Nice views from the up there.

It is easy to drive by the next group of attractions.  Use the waypoint to stop where the trail turns to the north.

Petroglyphs and a small arch are immediately visible.

Take a very short hike to see an abandoned check dam, weird rocks another arch.

Check out a double arch back at the parking area, then off to the beginning of the trail on a sandy road.
